Why should surrogacy be legal?
Surrogacy is a term used to describe an arrangement where a woman, married or not, agrees to get pregnant for a couple or another person. Ã’šÃ‚ Surrogacy is based from the root word surrogate which means substitute. Ã’šÃ‚ Ã’šÃ‚ There are many types of surrogacy. Ã’šÃ‚ It can be traditional where a child is born to be adopted by other couple. Ã’šÃ‚ This usually happens if a couple could not have their own babies due to risky medical conditions.
Another type is gestational where an embryo is implanted to a woman’s tomb and she will bear the child for 9 months. Ã’šÃ‚ After giving birth, that woman doesn’t have a connection with the child anymore. Ã’šÃ‚ This means that her body is used as the cradle of the fetus.
Now, there is a term called commercial surrogacy where the arrangement becomes a business already. Ã’šÃ‚ A woman is compensated to deliver a child who later will be given to the couples who need a baby.
The issue on surrogacy making it legal has raised a lot of questions to all family-oriented individuals. Ã’šÃ‚ They would think that this arrangement is a disgrace and an immoral thing. Ã’šÃ‚ They keep on pointing out that a mother or a woman bearing a child will always be attached to that child. Ã’šÃ‚ There will come a time that the woman will fight for her right in taking back the child she bore.
With these issues at hand, it is just proper to make surrogacy legal because it is a complicated process. Ã’šÃ‚ There are a lot of things to consider such as the rights of the woman who will bore the child and the rights of the parents who will adopt the child. Ã’šÃ‚ If there is legality in the process, the parents who want to get the services of surrogates will be confident enough to claim the child as their own.
